Senior Purchasing Specialist

Senior Purchasing Specialist required for an NHS Purchasing Organisation based in the South West.

The Senior Purchasing Specialist will report into the Head of Sourcing and have responsibility for a team of Purchasing Specialists.

The Senior Purchasing Specialist will undertake the strategic procurement of Goods, Services and Work to achieve the lowest cost solution. This will include ITT and commercial evaluations, leading negotiations with suppliers and implementing contracts.

Essential Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years Purchasing experience
  • Previous line management experience
  • Demonstrable record of delivering cash savings
  • In depth, up to date knowledge of Public Sector Procurement policies and regulations
  • Experience of electronic supply management and information systems
  • Highly developed negotiation and influencing skills
  • MCIPS qualified or studying towards CIPS qualification
